Job Description Job Description Estimator Job Title: Estimator Job Location: Baton Rouge, LA Base Salary: $100K-$140K Requirements: 5 years of civil estimating experience preferably on industrial, marine, commercial or municipal projects. Position Overview: The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, including industrial, marine, and civil engineering tasks. This role involves analyzing project specifications, conducting quantity take-offs, and collaborating with project managers to ensure competitive and comprehensive bids. Key Responsibilities: Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects. Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project requirements. Conduct quantity take-offs and pricing for various construction elements. Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project scope and requirements. Utilize software tools such as HCSS and HeavyBid to streamline the estimating process. Review and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure the best pricing options are considered. Maintain a database of historical costs for reference in future estimates. Provide support during bid preparation and submission phases. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as an estimator in heavy civil construction, particularly in industrial and marine projects. Proficient in HCSS, HeavyBid, and other relevant estimating software tools. Strong knowledge of earthwork, grading, and utilities relevant to civil construction.
