Job Description Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. This role involves the assembly of large diesel and natural gas engines, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools, specialized torque equipment, pneumatic tooling, electrical testing equipment, and lifting devices/cranes. The successful candidate will be manipulating engine components during the assembly process and learning the technical aspects of engine assembly, including troubleshooting and repair of in-process engines. Responsibilities Assemble large diesel and natural gas engines using hand and power tools. Utilize specialized torque equipment, pneumatic tooling, and electrical testing equipment. Manipulate engine components during the assembly process. Learn technical aspects of engine assembly including troubleshooting and repair of in-process engines. Interpret blueprints and specifications to perform assembly tasks accurately. Maintain knowledge of tooling and demonstrate mechanical aptitude. Use a variety of tools available at the station, including torque wrenches and pneumatic air power tools. Essential Skills Proven experience in an industrial environment, working with hands. Experience using mechanical tooling such as torque equipment and DC tools. Mid-level mechanical aptitude with the ability to follow blueprints and work instructions. CPU skills to review engineering drawings and document processes. Ability to pass written and hands-on assessments during training. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1st Shift: 6:30AM-2:30PM - $21.34 2nd Shift: 2:30PM-10:30PM - $22.09 3rd Shift: 10:30PM- 6:30AM - $22.09 Why Work Here? Safety is a top priority, with PPE including steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses being mandatory. The facility is tobacco-free, with designated areas for tobacco use during break times. Shifts are as follows: 1st Shift (6:30AM-2:30PM), 2nd Shift (2:30PM-10:30PM), and 3rd Shift (10:30PM-6:30AM). Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.34 - $22.09/hr.
