Job Description:
The YMCA of Northern Colorado is hiring a captain to helm the
ship known as the Arapahoe YMCA. YMCA Arapahoe Center YMCA Location
Lafayette, CO 80026-8011 Job Description Serving as the new
Arapahoe Y Branch Executive Director located in Lafayette,
Colorado, the captain we seek must be organized and responsible,
viscerally hard working and ready to make ship happen. Yeah, we
said it. The Arapahoe YMCA in Lafayette serves as a gym, fitness
center and recreation facility in Lafayette, Colo. The Y in
Lafayette opened in 1998 and is more than 50,000 square feet,
including an ice rink, indoor/outdoor swimming pool, turf field and
more. One of Boulder's closest suburbs, Lafayette is loved by its
residents for its small-town feel, fun community events, local
dining and shopping options as well as its many parks. So what does
this mean for our new Branch Executive Director? On top of seeking
candidates with budgetary savvy, membership innovation and
management expertise, our ideal Branch Exec truly has a
collaborative mindset and an all hands on deck attitude. Our future
Branch Executive Director must be able to build bridges, grow
awareness and create a community within the staff team, the
membership and the world outside the doors of this city Y. We want
someone who can make waves and rock the boat in the best of ways.

teams and our membership/participant base. Basically, you play nice
with others.You are comfortable with nay, you love budgeting,
implementing policies, tackling administrative and marketing
duties, training and doing work that some may consider dull but you
certainly would not! You have experience with or are willing to
master our membership management system.You understand that the Y
is not just a gym and this position is not just a job. You know
that your efforts will change lives, give opportunities to those in
need and help your neighbors thrive. You can see that your work at
the Mapleton Y will be a purpose, a reason to give a ship. Salary
range is $65,000- $75,000 per year. This position is year round,
full-time exempt and includes generous medical, dental, vision,
life, long term disability insurance options, paid vacation, sick
and holiday time, free YMCA family membership, 50% reduced rates on
YMCA of Northern Colorado programs including personal training,
swim lessons, after school programs, day camp programs and more. We
provide contributions of 10% of your salary to the YMCA Retirement
Fund for eligible staff. Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in
human services, social services, business or equivalent. 2. Six or
more years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or other
nonprofit agency. 3. Ability to direct total operations through
volunteer development, supervision of staff, development and
monitoring of branch budget, marketing and public relations, and
program development. 4. Experience in management and development of
volunteer involvement; ability to recruit top community leaders. 5.
Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all
social and economic segments of the community. 6. Proven track
record of developing authentic relationships with others. 7.
Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community
organizations. 8. YMCA Multi-Team or Branch Leader certification
preferred. 9. CPR and First Aid certifications may be required.
Essential Functions Represents and promotes the YMCA in the local
community and develops positive working relationships with other
organizations, businesses, and governmental entities. Develops,
maintains, and models collaborative relationships with community
agencies in service delivery area. Oversees the hiring, training,
development and supervision of staff. Develops, manages, and
monitors operating budgets for the specific branch areas and meets
or exceeds budget targets. Develops and directs high-quality
relationship-based member engagement strategies. Models
relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all
interactions with staff, volunteers, members, and the community.
Fosters a climate of innovation to develop member-focused programs
in all departments to support the Y mission, goals, and strategies.
Ensures the safety and maintenance of high-quality facilities,
grounds, and equipment, working with the appropriate departments to
address any issues in a timely manner. Directs the financial
development activities of the branch. Coordinates the development
of branch committees. Directs the volunteer activities (policy and
program) of the branch. Assists in creating marketing and
communication efforts to effectively communicate the benefit to the
community. Serves as a member of Y executive management team and
supports the overall objectives of the YMCA. Participates in
required Manager on Duty shifts.
