The Vice President of Sales is responsible for the implementation and execution of the GDS Sales Strategy, making certain that the corporate message is understood, and its products are considered and ultimately chosen. This role will be responsible for learning and executing on the GDS sales model; selling consistently and predictably to achieve pre-determined sales quotas and targets while ensuring a satisfied customer base to build a sustainable business for future success in the territories. This role is also responsible for leading, developing and training the sales team and ensuring a robust and active sales cycle. At present, the Employee's responsibilities include: Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides strategic direction for all global sales efforts using current and possible future technologies
  • Provides strategic guidance and assistance to sales teams and field operations as necessary
  • Establishes and maintains customer relationships, improving overall market share
  • Reports regularly on sales forecasts, order activity, stages of negotiations, pricing levels, new market and product opportunities and competitive threats
  • Manages and grows the rep and distributor side of the business to insure the consistent sales growth throughout the globe
  • Keeps informed of significant market and industry trends and competitive positioning in relation to these trends
  • Pursues new market opportunities and ways to improve sales profitability by exploiting competitor weaknesses
  • Manages all aspects of the sales cycle from negotiations to close and
  • Works collaboratively with other sales leaders throughout the organization to improve the sales culture and training initiatives
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate revenue and margin goals.
  • Ensuring high customer satisfaction by working closely with the Sales Consultants and other departments to achieve committed service quality.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist Sales Consultants in promoting sales.
  • Meets with key clients, assisting Sales Consultants with maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals.
  • Liaison between sales and other business units to ensure quality delivery of products Qualifications & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a business related field
    • At least 15 years of sales experience
    • A proven track record in the IT MSP channel
    • Experience managing a dispersed sales force
    • Must be able to look at the big picture, create value and move deals forward
