Development Office: Director, Regional Development Position Title: Development Office: Director, Regional Development Department : 7030-Development Office Responsibilities :
The Director of Regional Development identifies, cultivates,and solicits alumni, parents and friends on behalf of the University, itsschools, and programs. The Directorplays a central role in collaborating with university officials, collegeleadership, alumni affairs, development senior leadership, campaign volunteers,and colleagues throughout the Advancement Division.

Major Gift, Regional Development Directors carry portfolios with geographicregional assignments requiring significant travel. Working in a highlycollaborative environment, the Director will engage with multiple developmentofficers, participate in project teams, and engage volunteers. The Director may be responsible for organizing aspects of regionalalumni and donor events as well as leadership travel. This position requires travel, evening, andweekend work (approximately 25-40% of time).

Job Tasks & Responsibilities
-Serve as a full-time fundraiser securing giftsand pledges of $25,000 or more
-Manage a portfolio of 125-150 major giftprospects, develop effective moves management strategies, and lead prospects through the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycle
-Research, discover, and qualify new major giftprospects for the University
-Develop and implement strategies aimed to increasemajor gifts (capital projects, endowments, planned gifts, leadership annualgifts, and gifts-in-kind)
-Work collaboratively and at the direction of otherOffice of Development professionals to ensure compliance with policies andprocedures and coordinate major gift donor efforts
-Make phone calls and other introductory contactsto secure appointments with prospects in order to solicit major gifts
-Work with University staff to secure pertinentinformation for writing and creating donor giving opportunities,solicitations/proposals and stewardship reports
-Negotiate gifts and pledges in accordance withadopted gift acceptance policies and procedures; submits appropriate materialsto accurately record gifts and pledges in donor database
-Research and implement University and industrybest practices to create, manage, and execute major giving strategies
-Run reports and analyze data to monitor personalmetrics and take action to achieve goals
-Prepare and enter call reports in a timelymanner. Maintain accuracy of records byproviding updates for donor database and following established protocols foruse of data
-Work with supervisor to develop performance goalsand priorities on an annual basis
-Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
-Excellent computer, verbal and writtencommunication, as well as customer service skills necessary
-Superior interpersonal and collaborative skills
-Proven track record of building relationshipsand soliciting gifts
-Capable of writing proposals and otherprofessional documents
-Self-motivated with the ability to achieve goalsand metrics
-Ability to both prioritize given assignments andmulti-task effectively
-Ability to work collaboratively and followorganization policies and guidelines
-Ability to think critically and exercise soundjudgment and decision making Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree is required, Master'spreferred
