About The Position JOB OVERVIEW Job Title: Physician - Emergency Medicine Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Alexandria, Louisiana Service Setting: Emergency Room (ER) Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: Start Date: 02/17/2025 Ongoing Clinical Shift Schedule: Mon-Wed: 7a-5p, 10a-8p, 3p-1a, 4p-12a, and 8p-7a Thurs-Sun: 7a-5p, 10a-9p, 4p-2a, and 8p-7a PATIENT INFORMATION Patient Demographics: Mixed; primarily adult and geriatric with some pediatric patients Patient Volume/Census: Approximately 135 patients per day Admissions: 22% of patients are admitted Case Mix: Emergency Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION Annual Volume: 49,500 visits EMR System: Meditech (transitioning to EPIC in March 2025) Specialty Backup Available: Robust backup specialties available onsite Support Staff Available: Scribe coverage for 10 hours daily PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes Credentialing Timeline: Start as soon as credentialed; minimum days to credential not provided COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Rate: TBD Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered REQUIRED PROCEDURES Not specified; general Emergency Medicine responsibilities JOB REQUIREMENTS Licenses: Active Louisiana state medical license required Certifications: ATLS (required for FM-trained physicians) ACLS and PALS (required for all physicians) Residency: Must have completed an EM or FM residency Experience: If FM-trained, must have proof of ED experience within the past two years Board Certification: Acceptable boards include ABEM, AOBEM, or ABFM. ABPS boards are not accepted.
