JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Nocturnist / Hospitalist • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Lafayette, LA • Service Setting: Hospital • Coverage Type: Clinical Only • Coverage Period: August 15, 2025 September 1, 2026 • Clinical Shift Schedule: 7 on / 7 off; Day: 7a 7p, Night: 7p 7a COVERAGE DATES • August 15, 2025 September 1, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Adults • Patient Volume/Census: 200 patients/day; Day rounders average 20 encounters per shift • Admissions: Yes Nocturnist will split admits and cross cover with telemedicine hospitalist and nocturnist NPPA • Rounding: Included • Phone Consults: No • Case Mix: General Internal Medicine FACILITY INFORMATION • Trauma Level: No Trauma • Specialty Backup Available: Telemedicine hospitalist and nocturnist NPPA • Support Staff Available: NPPAs • Reason for Coverage: Full Time Vacancy PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Temporary Privileges Available: Not specified • Credentialing Timeline: 60 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered JOB REQUIREMENTS • Licenses: Active Louisiana license preferred • Board: Board Certified in Internal Medicine (Physicians only) or Board Eligible • DEA: Active DEA Certification • Experience: Telehealth experience not required • Other Qualifications: Fellowship not required; Academic Medical Center experience not required DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Provide hospitalist care for adult patients during assigned shifts • Perform day rounding or nocturnist duties as scheduled • Manage patient admissions, discharges, and transfers • Collaborate with telemedicine hospitalist and nocturnist NPPA for patient coverage • Maintain high-quality patient care while managing high patient census
