Pay Information $2,038 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours (06:45 - 19:15) Experience: Minimum of 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state license required upon submittal Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NURSYS report required Must-Have: - Post-operative experience required - Acute care experience required - Experience working full time on a post-operative unit - Experience with specific patient diagnoses such as pancreatitis, GI bleeds, bowel obstructions, and wound infections - Must have completed at least one travel contract Description: This position is for a Medical Surgical Registered Nurse specializing in post-operative care. The nurse will manage patients recovering from post-operative procedures. Common diagnoses may include pancreatitis, GI bleeds, and bowel obstructions. Special procedures performed on this unit include pancreatectomy, colectomy, and thyroidectomy. Experience with various equipment such as PEG tubes, PCA pumps, and wound vacs is preferred. The nurse will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating with physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Candidates must be prepared for additional responsibilities, including potential assignments to an emergency team during hurricane season. No call shifts are required, but weekend coverage will be part of the schedule. Travel experience is required for this position.
