Registered Nurse (RN) | Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Location: Lake Charles, LA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,416 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 1/19/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PICU RN in Lake Charles, Louisiana, 70601! Job Title: PICU RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: PICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred License: LA State or Compact RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Experienced PICU RN Description: PICU RN position available for a 13-week assignment. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM. Rotating weekends are required. No call is required for this position. Floating to pediatrics and NICU may occur if census is down. Candidates must hold current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications. Familiarity with Allscripts/Paragon EMR is required. First-time travelers are accepted. Preference given to candidates with 2 years of experience. Local candidates are also accepted. Expect to work some holidays during the assignment. Orientation of 16 hours is included. Candidates must be comfortable with patient care for adolescents, infants, and pediatrics. The daily census averages 2 patients in a 5-bed unit. The patient care team includes physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and pharmacy. Common diagnoses include respiratory disease, DKA, and trauma. Candidates should be skilled in a variety of procedures including intubation, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring. Participation in interdisciplinary support and rapid response teams is expected.
