Registered Nurse (RN) | Medical-Surgical Location: Lafayette, LA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,038 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in specialty License: Compact or state license required Certifications: BLS ACLS (preferred) NIHSS (preferred) Must-Have: Emergency team assignment expectations Neuro surgery experience Description: Traveler should be aware that upon accepting an assignment, they may be assigned to an Emergency Team. It is expected that they will remain at the facility until the emergency event is resolved. Specific details regarding pay for emergency events will be provided as needed. By signing the contract, the traveler agrees to report as assigned in the case of an emergency. Travelers should not apply if they are not comfortable with the emergency team assignment expectation. The unit specializes in multi-trauma, seizures, gunshot wounds, falls, traumatic brain injuries, strokes, and sepsis. Neuro surgery experience is required. This is a major trauma unit with procedures that include craniotomy, spinal fusions, and orthopedic trauma management. Travelers may be pulled to other inpatient units as needed. Scheduling requests cannot be guaranteed. Required skills include blood product administration, PICC line management, and pre/post neuro surgery care. Experience in managing surgical drains and chest tubes is essential. Additional skills in telemetry, wound care, and isolation precautions are also necessary. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy. Daily patient census averages around 24, with patient ratios of 6:1. The unit treats adults and geriatric patients. Travelers must have previous travel experience. References from two managers or supervisors will be required for clearance to start the contract.
