If you are interested in a job at WCH please call Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse: Provides directpatient care to labor and delivery patients in a family-centered approach, inaccordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of thehealthcare organization, as well as guidelines of professional organizations. Oversees anddirects the care of pregnant women and their families. Provides careto low-risk, high-risk, and critical-care pregnant women and their families. Responsible forthe care of pregnant patients and their families in Antepartum, intrapartum,and postpartum periods. In addition, the obstetric RN cares forpatients during vaginal and/or cesarean delivry, as well as other Obstetricalsurgical procedures. Serves as theprimary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinatedpatient care. Oversees anddirects the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability forthe care given to assigned patients. When the needarises, the employee will perform other duties within the scope of practice asassigned by his or her supervisor. BSN preferred.* Experience: Atleast one year of nursing experience in maternal/child or critical carepreferred.* Special Qualifications:CPR through AHA upon hire; NRP within 6 months from date of hire; ACLS within 6months from date of hire; Fetal Heart Monitoring Education* Completion of the designated introductory fetalheart monitoring program within 1 month post hire.* Completion of the designated intermediate fetal heart monitoringeducation program by 6 months of hire for an RN with previous fetal heartmonitoring experience and by one (1) year of hire of an RN with no fetal heartmonitoring experience into a labor & delivery role.* Completion of the designated advanced fetal heart monitoringeducation program every two years after completion of the designatedintermediate fetal heart monitoring course.* HCA On Line Operative Vaginal Delivery Course within 6 months posthire* HCA on line Shoulder Dystocia Course within 4 months post hire.* HCA on line Postpartume Hemorrhage Course within 3 months posthire.
