Job Description:
The HIS Training Specialist promotes standards and healthcare
practices that are in compliance with the rules and regulations as
they are set by the states in which the company operates. The HIS
Training Specialist supports the efforts of the Company to develop,
maintain and enhance/modify the HIS training curriculum and
environment for end-users. This role is responsible for training
end-users, e.g., facility staff, business office staff, and
providers on the proper use of the Health Information System
application functions and features. Responsible for ensuring and
documenting comprehension and understanding of concepts covered
during training by providing knowledge checks and competency
assessments.Essential Functions:Facilitates and delivers in-person
and virtual training related to assigned sub-modules during
implementation and on ongoing basis for Support Center Superusers,
Facility superusers and, when applicable, end-users.Analyzes HIS
training needs and appropriately addresses training resource
deficiencies by making improvements to training content,
curriculum, and delivery as needed for assigned sub-modules of the
HIS. Creates and maintains professional training documentation and
improves existing training materials, as necessary.Serves as a
subject matter expert as it relates to assigned sub-modules within
the HIS.Participates in the development of workflows, training
guides, processes, and policies and procedures for assigned
sub-modulesProvides support for end users, including escalating
issues to EMR vendor.Assists in QA activities of new development
with clinical testing for future software enhancements.Consistently
demonstrates a service-oriented mindset by providing excellent
internal/external customer service. Develops and maintains good
interpersonal relationships and partnerships with all departments
at the Company.Ensures all actions, job performance, personal
conduct, and communications always represent the Company in a
highly professional manner.Serves a resource for the organization
as it relates to training material and processes.Completes other
assigned duties under the direction of the Manager, Health
Information Systems Training.Performs other related duties as
assigned.RequirementsEducational / Experience
Requirements:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
preferred.Training experience required.Qualifications /
Skills:Working knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
with ability to learn new systems quickly.Ability to develop and
maintain good working relationships with physicians and other
clinical staff.Ability to travel from site to site.Demonstrates
strong computer skills to navigate MS office products and
electronic compliance software solutions.Excellent written and
verbal communication skills.Demonstrates personal traits of a high
level of integrity, team orientation, professionalism, and
trustworthiness. Places a high value on ethical standards and
treating others with dignity and respect.Work Environment:Subject
to many interruptions. Occasional pressure due to multiple calls
and inquiries. This position can be high paced and stressful; must
be able to cope mentally and physically to atmosphere. This person
might sometimes experience disagreeable odors, sights and/or
unpredictable patient behavior. Work requires spending
approximately 90% or more of the time inside a building that offers
protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from
temperature changes.
