Job Description:

An employer is looking for a Fiber Splicer to work in Monroe, LA. This person must be willing and able to work remotely, traveling within their assigned market territory, and on call 24x7. Daily responsibilities will include splicing fiber and terminating fiber panels inside customer locations. It is important that this person be experienced within the telecommunications fiber industry and have or develop a working knowledge of the following equipment: fusion splicer, mechanical splicer, OTDR, power meters, cleavers, strippers, buffer tube splitters, cable ring tools, hand tools, ladders, etc. Lastly, this will be a full time, permanent role but will be paid on an hourly basis and will be eligible for overtime. -CDL Class A license -Military background -Fiber installation, hanging strands, and overlashing fiber -Aerial experience working out of a bucket truck -Ability to use a Utility Locator -2+ years Fiber Splicing experience -Experience operating a Splicer as well as working with OTDR and other related Splicing tools -Telecom Fiber industry experience -Valid Drivers License -Ability to work in 24x7 On Call environment -Ability to travel within market -Self motivator with ability to work remote
