Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.Experience: Five (5) years relevant experience and/ or training. Experience in MS Word, Excel, QuickBooks, Power Point, Outlook, and internet search.Required License/Certifications: NoneEssential Job Functions:Effectively coordinates and completes the medical staff credentialing process; including but not limited to: tracking of application; verification of applicant's credentials; monitoring of time frames to assure compliance; correlation of data; and maintenance of files and records.Using knowledge of the credentialing process, assesses the contents of an application for completeness and/or variances from acceptable data collection.Informs applicants of status of their application, including acceptance to the medical staff, privileges granted, and any other special requests or announcements. Resolves with the applicant issues surrounding missing data, gaps in the application, or any other conflicting data received during the credentialing process.Effectively prepares credential files for provisional, appointment, and/or reappointment review to include preparation of applicant files for presentation to Credentials Committee and Medical Executive Committee.Administers the credentialing, reappointment, and privileging processes. Coordinates procurement of DE, licensure, and malpractice insurance information. Collects and maintains appropriate records.Establishes and maintains an electronic record for each medical staff physician and allied health professional including but not limited to the tracking of data such as, demographic, licensure and insurance status, hospital affiliations and peer reference information.Stays abreast of and applies knowledge of current applicable medical staff credentialing and contracted staff federal and state laws and regulations and standards.Effectively coordinates and completes the contracted staff application process; including but not limited to: working closely with the contracted service company for acquiring and verifying the required documentation, credentials and competencies for the duties requested to be performed by the contracted service provider.Establishes and maintains an electronic and/or a paper record for contracted staff professionals including but not limited to the tracking of data such as, demographic information, licensure and insurance status, job descriptions, annual competencies and health status requirements.Communicates effectively with contracted company and service provider regarding general hospital rules and requirements and regarding required documentation for the ongoing file maintenance, such as annual licensure and insurance renewals, competency assessments, health requirements, etc.Effectively communicates with the appropriate department managers and staff of the hospital for notification of newly hired and terminated staff.Provides clerical and secretarial support to the administrative staff: answers the phone; screens and redirects mail appropriately; responds to requests for typing, copying, ordering supplies, and maintaining administrative file; maintains postage machine and outgoing overnight mail.Assists with preparation of reports, data collection, data entry, data research and analysis, programs, distribution of reports.Responds to provider inquiries received by letter, phone and/or internal departments.Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Guidelines for Appropriate Conduct, Corporate Compliance, Diversity, and Confidentiality.Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words and actions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.
