Sr. Software/System Architect
Position Description
We're growing rapidly and are looking for a Software/System
Architect to create and design simulations, conceptual diagrams and
working reference models in support of our Federal client's large,
complex system portfolio. In this role, you will have the
opportunity to design simulations that shall be in a format that
can successfully demonstrate product owner defined functionality,
assist development teams, and achieve customer acceptance.
Additionally, you will deliver executable prototypes including the
appropriate documentation.

Your future duties and responsibilities
Provide technical support for the Architecture & Engineering Review
Board (AERB) reviews.
Process the AERB submission and be the technical liaison between
the Portfolio Teams, AERB, and SPM.
Develop, maintain, and implement data architecture models (logical
and physical) data mappings for Portfolio software development
Product Teams.
Provide technical support and facilitation of Portfolio design
efforts, to include detailed system, application, and data
architecture designs, based on the analysis of product backlog
requirements, project deliverables, and Enterprise Architecture
documentation.
Provide continuous analysis of the enterprise architecture and its
impact upon the Portfolio program architecture.
Provide comprehensive domain knowledge of client systems that
affect the Portfolio program's products and provide technical
management and strategic solution support to the portfolio's
management team.
Develop system application-level architecture that is consistent
with the architectural framework and methodologies established by
the client's Enterprise Architecture.
Examine the functionality, purpose, and integration of existing and
planned software applications to determine and document the
business, data, application, and technology principles for the
planned applications that will meet the client's Enterprise
Architecture goals.
Provide technical support in the development and testing of systems
and processes to address major architectural issues including data
migration, database design and optimization, messaging, system and
data security, architecture Governance, Architecture Change
Control, application design and optimization, and application
implementation.
Provide system and application level architectural solution
recommendations.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or
clearance requirements, US citizenship is required and the ability
to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or
other Engineering or technical discipline and 10 years of
experience required.
o Or, 10 years of additional relevant experience may be considered
in lieu of degree.
Extensive experience in the coordination of program and project
leaders to identify requirements for system architecture
required.
Experience in the ability to identify strategies for addressing
requirements required.
Experience with analysis of requirements against fiscal, schedule,
and performance issues required.
Extensive experience in taking program requirements and is able to
create an architecture vision having experience in high volume and
high availability networks and systems required.
Experience in creating and conveying to team members the
architectural vision for a program or project required.
Experience with dictating design choices to software developers,
including but not limited to: platforms, coding and technical
levels. Experience in establishing and enforcing standards and
practices required.
Experience with overseeing the development team, manages the full
life cycle of the software development process required.
Extensive software development experience and thorough knowledge of
a variety of programming languages and logic required.
