Job Description:
Summary Painter/Blasters foreman oversee the work to sand blast
and paint structures and pipe by performing the following
duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
The most important and essential job function of this position is
attitude and includes the following: getting along with co-workers,
responding politely to corporate clients and members of the
community, working as a team member, functioning appropriately
under pressure, responding in a positive manner to supervision, and
maintaining inter-office confidentiality.
Transfer valve from blasting table to hanging race to be
painted.
Transfer pipe support from table to standing to be
blasted/painted.
Transfer bucket of paint/primer from mixing to truck to paint
yard.
Transfer paint can in blasting yard to paint objects.
Transfer objects on pipe stand to position for blasting.
Transfer blast hose within blast yard to blast objects for
painting.
Climb ladder to open valve on blast pot to fill pot with sand.
Access all areas of painting and blasting yard.
Blast beams, angle iron, shuts, valves and pipe to prepare for
painting.
Spary primer coat, intermediate coat, and final coat.
Wear protective hood when blasting structures and pipe.
Uses a respirator hood to paint structures, pipe and valves.
Uses a spary gun to paint all structures, pipe and valves.
Uses a blast hose to blast structures, pipe and valves.
Wear a respirator when painting structures and pipe.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to
three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short
correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small
group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the
organization.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed
but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with
problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized
situations.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid Louisiana Drivers License and reliable transportation highly
desired.
