L3Harris has approximately $18 billion in annual revenue and 48,000 employees, with customers in more than 100 countries.Description:Integration & Test Engineering SpecialistWe are currently seeking an Integration & Test Engineering Specialist for our Broussard, LA location.Essential Responsibilities: Being part of a team responsible for managing multiple hull construction at shipyards for Unmanned Surface Vehicle Programs with an emphasis on program partner/subcontractor activities. Creating, maintaining, following, and enforcing quality and safety processes at L3Harris ASV. Perform an array of quality activities including subcontractor surveillance/management and monitoring of multiple trades including but not limited to electrical, welding, painting, and piping. Taking direction programmatically from the Program Manager and Project Engineer, and functionally report to the L3Harris Quality & Test Department Manager. Testing responsibilities may include analyzes requirements for testability issues. Develops and implements both hardware and software system level test programs, plans, specifications, procedures, and customer acceptance. Plans and leads test working groups, test readiness reviews. Conducts testability and producibility analyses and reviews. Acting as the primary contact for quality assurance matters and test & evaluation for the ships being constructed. Managing program total ship testing program/master test & inspection plans Reviewing test procedures and acting as test director at events and trials pier side as well as at sea. Providing Test Witness Reports upon completion of testing. Reviewing, screening, and tracking to resolution quality and testing deficiencies/ trial cards. Managing production documentation including tracking, status, reviews, and problem resolution during construction, testing, and delivery. Creating test agendas and event schedules and leading test/trials readiness review meetings Providing input to Integrated Master Schedule and test program to ensure testing requirements can be managed in the contractual time allotted Assist the Program Manager with the development of HM related presentations in preparations for trials. Providing weekly and monthly status reports to program stakeholders. Directing activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives; to include Instituting, maintaining, and enforcing workplace safety and quality standards in all production facilities. Providing Quality Engineering oversight of ship construction directly and through review and approval of subcontractor quality assurance and test records for adequacy and compliance to procedures and quality standards of L3Harris and the program.Requirements: Bachelor---s Degree and minimum 6 years prior related experience. Material Specification knowledge and process familiarity with welding, plumbing, electrical, large-scale dimensional inspection, non-destructive test techniques, mechanical and electrical. Ability to interpret industry quality standards and workmanship specifications as they pertain to the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) High Speed Naval Craft Rules. Strong skills in identification of non-conformances and problem resolution Use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints. Prior experience in shipbuilding / naval architecture / marine engineering Must understand mechanical measuring equipment and the ability to develop inspection plans and first article inspections. Must be familiar with AS9100/ISO 9001 Standard and Quality Management System Requirements. The ability to communicate effectively and technically with all levels of the organization. The ability to develop and maintain customer confidence and acceptance. Familiarity with inspection of mechanical and electromechanical products. Must be a U.S. CitizenAdditional Preferred Skills: Experience dealing with Supervisor of Shipbuilding (SupShip), American Bureau of Shipping, DoD / Navy or related customer experience highly desired. Experience managing production programs involving the build, integration and test of electronic and/or electromechanical systems. Shipyard construction experience highly desired. Non-Destructive Testing Level II VT knowledge/certification. Ability to adapt processes and procedures to align with site scope. Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers/subcontractors. Experience in process improvement methodologies such as Lean and/or Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) for the purpose of reducing waste and variation. Understanding of productions processes such as soldering, mechanical assembly, welding, painting, integration and test, etc. Experience developing proposal inputs.Please be aware many of our positions require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
